Better World Books Launch Stirlingshire Book Banks: Finding New Homes for Pre-loved Books

Local socially responsible online bookseller launches 3 book banks in Stirlingshire.

DUNFERMLINE, UK – (December 4, 2014) – Better World Books, a leading for-profit social enterprise which supports literacy will be at the Allan Centre, Bridge of Allan to launch 3 book banks on Saturday 13 December 12noon to 4pm. The public can meet the team to learn about the book bank programme and donate books on the day. There will also be a selection of books for sale.

Book banks offer convenience to consumers with unwanted books and provide Better World Books with a steady stream of good quality books to sell or donate, rasing funds for literacy and keeping books out of landfill. An average book bank saves 126 trees per year which is equivalent to around 10,000 books. Any books that can’t be sold or donated are recycled. There are currently 15 Better World Books book banks in Scotland which are serviced by Junk Ants (http://www.betterworldbooks.co.uk/go/donate-list).
