35,000 Children’s Books Donated to Schools in Fife

Socially minded online bookseller opens doors for Children’s Book Giveaway

Dunfermline, UK – (August 14, 2015) – This week Better World Books held a 3 day children’s book giveaway for teachers. The event was held at their warehouse in the Castle Industrial Centre, Dunfermline. Over 300 teachers attended the event. The majority of teachers came from within Fife, although some travelled from Perth, Dundee, Hamilton and the Borders.

There were thousands of books available for teachers to select from. They were divided into age ranges of 0-5 years, 6-10 years and 11+ years. Teachers were provided with boxes and could take as many books as they wanted.

Tom Walker, Operations Manager at Better World Books said “This is the first time we’ve opened our doors to donate books to teachers. We have been overwhelmed with the response and we’ve received fantastic feedback from the teachers. We’re delighted that these books now have new homes in classrooms and school libraries throughout Scotland.” Better World Books runs a donations programme that aims to find new homes for the books that they cannot sell.
