Five libraries and five nonprofits receive funding for literacy projects.
DUNFERMLINE, SCOTLAND (8 November 2016) – Each year, Better World Books UK invites libraries and nonprofit organisations to apply for funds to support their efforts to further literacy in their communities. The Better World Books Literacy Council reviews the submitted projects and selects library recipients. The Literacy Council also selects nonprofit finalists, which are put to a vote. Public vote determines three of the nonprofit winners, and the Literacy Council selects two more recipients from the list of finalists.
As a Founding B Corporation, Better World Books has raised over £2.45 million to date for literacy causes. This year’s winners bring a variety of creative programmes to spread literacy and learning in their communities, and Better World Books is excited to see the impact these projects will have.
